Kitulo National Park

The first National Park in tropical Africa to be established primarily for its floristic importance. Local people refer to the Kitulo Plateau as “Bustani ya Mungu” – The Garden of God. Host one of the world’s greatest floral displays, with 350 plant species. It includes 45 varieties of terrestrial orchids.

Getting There

– Regular scheduled flights fly to Mbeya, from where ground transport has to be arranged to Kitulo.
– Drive from Mbeya town to the park via Chimala road or Isyonje road.
– Drive from Chimala town along the Dar es Salaam to Mbeya highway.
– Climb the scenic plateau through the rough road called Hamsini n Saba.
